Ethical and Fair Trade shops in Australia
Trying to balance a non-consumerist life in a world where you are surrounded by consumerism can be difficult. This is where ethical and Fair Trade shops and organisations come in. I'm so grateful for them because they give us an opportunity to make purchases that will give back to the people who work hard to earn a fair income. Handmade products by real people are always so much better than mass factory-produced items anyway! Plus, the environment also gets a break from being destroyed by said factories.
I've compiled a list of Australian ethical shops (by state – more states to be added soon) where you can purchase food, gifts, homewares and global treasures. Along with Fair Trade products, a lot of these shops also stock locally-made and grown products, which help support our own local small businesses.
All of these shops have incredible and inspirational background stories on their websites. Be sure to check out the ‘About’ section on each website to find out more about the amazing people behind these businesses and the work that they do to assist with ending social injustice and environmental destruction.
